Sponsorship funding goes towards the theater rental for the event for 2 days October 12-13, 2024, Ten (10) True Grit Awards to deserving citizens, first responders, and the unsung heroes of our community, Ten (10) Filmmaker Awards, celebration on the Andrews Park Bridge, Financial literacy programs through entertainment kid's Buffalo Bucks to spend at the Wild West Family Festival, historical character attractions, John Payne Documentary screening on this great once in a lifetime a living legend rodeo performer referred to as the American "Rodeo Hero" Wild Bill Hickok of our time. John Payne's story touches all with his resilience of lost limbs and other impairments to being named in the Hall Of Fame 15 times as the Rodeo Performer of the Year at 71 years young, one arm, died 2 times, indigenous american indian, hearing impaired, rags to riches story, and an inspiration to all that witness his performances. His resilience and excellence garnered the attention of Kings around the world to bring John Payne to their country to perform his one of a kind show for their people. The documentary will be something that hearing, visually, and the physically impaired can enjoy as we have adapted the film. We will have an American Sign Language (ASL) professional onstage for the film for the hearing impaired. The Journey Theater facilities are fully ADA compliant. You will be amazed with the training of his animals that would normally not go together but found a harmonious place with John Payne as he brings his life's humanity and compassion to the story. We will also be featuring 10 Feature films and shorts, videos, and educational historical films. We will present the documentary about the Black Cowboy of the American made by West One was made at Pena Adobe featuring indigenous Lakota local James Tunstall and the Pena Adobe Volunteers. There are many financial responsibilities to bring this great event to Solano County and with your generous sponsorship we hope to build a stronger community together. It is our goal to educate historically and celebrate the contributions of the men and women that were that won the wild west along with areas of the interesting gold rush, gold panning,1800's and 1900's past and present pioneers, settlers, period costumed reenactors of financial literacy through displays, booths, and bring a smile to all. We have the Solano County Sheriff's Posse, Mexican Aztecca Dancers, Pow Wow, John Wayne tribute, western themed music, Buffalo Soldiers performance, and many many more.
